Team News For Vale Clash | Brighton and Hove Albion | Match | Preview

Westlake likely to take over from Martot.

Rents, Reid and Dixon under consideration for the bench.

[Most seem unlikely though, as surely all behind Martot, Robinson, Butters and Fraser]

Luke Rogers doubtful for Vale, which is good as he is one of those players who ALWAYS seems to score against us.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Rodgers was a whiny little twit the last time he graced the hallowed turf at Withdean. I can't remember him scoring against us since our 3-0 thrashing at the arse end of the Old Fourth Division Championship season, but probably wrong about that.

I would like to see a bit more of Dixon. But not expecting much from him until next season. I would like to think that we will have Sullivan on the bench for the rest of the season. Any problems with Kuipers from here on in could be fatal if we are to make/sustain a playoff charge.

id stick reid on the bench - at home, if we need a creative midfield player to come on then he would be the ideal choice, presuming he is fit of course

...................FDM......................
Whing......Elphick.....Lynch.........Mayo
Cox.......Racon...Thomson..Westlake
..............Murray..Forster..........

Sullivan, Butters, Robinson, Reid, Dixon

That is what I would choose, though I suspect the bench will actually look more like this;

Butters, Martot, Robinson, Fraser, Hart

that would be my team as well - not having sullivan on the bench at this stage in the season would be suicidal

Butts is poorly today with a virus and may not be at Withdean tomorrow.

Rents may get a spot on the bench then, as the only remaining fit defender in the squad.

And don't bother WASTING anyone's time pretending that Reid or Hart are defenders.

Isn't it Fraser who can play in goal if needed? I agree and think Sullivan should be on the bench, although he hurt his hand on Wed night saving a goal from Orient reserves, as he dived at the player's feet - it got trodden on.

Not wishing to tempt fate... but how many times this season have we needed to use a substitute goalkeeper?

earlier in the season we could brush it off with an outfield player needing to go in goal - should it cost us points, there were plenty of games left in which to make them back up

now, every point counts. three points tomorrow is a must, and if we end up only getting one due to not having a keeper on the bench then it could end our play off hopes altogether - now is not the time to be gambling that something wont happen to kuipers

Yorkie, is there ANYTHING you don't know?

Loads. I was at the reserve match and saw it myself.
I only know about Butts because we have a Canadian Albion fan staying with us who haven't seen the Albion play since the early 80's and contacted Race because he really wanted to see Guy after the match tomorrow. Hopefully he will be better as Sullycanuck flies back on Monday.

Westlake should come in for Thomson who has been very poor in the last two games. Move Martot to the right-side of the diamond.

He has been f***ing knackered! I didn't see the Leeds game but at Forest you could tell he was knackered and tired, anyone would be at that age having played 2 games in 48 hours!

After a long rest I reckon he'll be back to his best!
