There was nothing in the press conference to suggest that Mac Allister will not play. But GP is not going to announce his team on Thursday is he?

Potter is in danger of losing elements of our fan base. I reckon about 30% of the Albion fans that I know and speak to regularly (about 20ish) are becoming fed up with him.

Every club has a number of ‘early adopters’ who lose faith with the manager very soon. It’s generally the same people every time. They are often accused of being ‘bedwetters’ or similar unfortunate derogatory names when in actual fact, they love the club more or as much as the rest of us. The qualities these ‘early adopters’ seem to always share is those of being ruled by emotion, having very little patience or common sense along with having poor knowledge about football tactics and management in general.

Always the same people no matter who the manager.

After that press conference yesterday, I’m thinking maybe Potter believes that we can get by without Mac Allister for the next 2 games and then he’s got another full 3 weeks with him in training before the next game. In that time he will be further acclimatised, more integrated into the team and the way we play and will still have another 8 games to make an impact this season. It’s amost like he will have then had a pre season with us.

Not saying that’s right or wrong, I’m as keen as anyone to see him play, but I could see the logic in that.

Free hit this one, so might as well give Lamptey and MacAllister a start

If we classify hard fixtures as ‘free hits’ we’re not going to get many points out of March and April.

I’m hoping for an off day from Wolves who have a busier fixture list than us alongside a Potter team that can break quickly BUT can take their limited chances (Thinking Watford away (3 shots on target) rather than Palace at home (8 shots on target)).

Potter puts 11 numbered BALLS in his VELVET sack and at 2pm does a draw, I heard last week he forgot to put No.17 in his BAG

No 1 - is too small for the bag and falls out between the seams
No 2 - is lightning quick inside the bag, but can’t find a way out
No 4 - became inflated, but is still able to be retrieved from the bag
No 5 - is always without fail the first ball retrieved from the bag
No 6 - seems to shift horizontally in the bag, until retrieved.
No 7 - finds all the best positions in the bag for hide and seek, but rarely can the other balls find him.
No 8 - An unpredictable ball - much like the “impossiball” sold in the 80s
No 10 - was last seen in the bag months ago, and literally did “talk his way permanently out of a paper bag”
Actually - No 10 is back with a makeover but there is a huge reluctance to retrieve this ball from the bag, and no one understands why.
No 11 - should only be retrieved from the bag after a period of time
No 13 - plods around in the bag, but is considered the most helpful of all the balls.
No 15 - The ball which most people believe should not be retrieved and should be left in the bag at all costs
No 16 - Is an expert at finding other balls
No 17 - This ball is looking a little worn and has wear and tear, but still not completely broken yet.
No 18 - Shiny ball
No 19 - Ball is currently under repair
No 20 - One of those balls sourced locally which when retrieved can look amazing, but mostly doesn’t roll very well.
No 22 - Rarely let’s any other balls get past him, but still more expected of this ball than most of the others
No 24 - A silky smooth ball that glides around the bag.
No 30 - The big ball seems to have pushed this one out of the way in the bag.
No 33 - a big ball but surprisingly useful for different jobs.

“Free hit” has been our stock pre match expression over the last 3 seasons. Mentally knowing beforehand thatwe’re going to lose say half the fixtures a season, it’s a pleasant shock when we rarely defy that.

The PL is a funny old beast for us.
