Who would you play?

Last night we looked too slow at the back, especially Butters and Virgo. Butters did a solid job last season but he is going to come up against better players this season so I would be inclined to give Virgo a go in the centre.

Harding is a good player but he has been woeful this season. We need to be solid for the next couple of games and whilst he is not as talented a player I would argue Mayo is a touch more no nonsense and not as likely to give the ball away in his own box which Harding seems to be prone to doing at the moment. It is not going to do Harding any good playing this badly. I would have a quiet word with him and rest him for a couple of games.

Jarret was infuriating last night. Did some wonderful touches but more often then not gave the ball away and is workshy. We need someone is going to run their arse off at the moment so I would play Jones on the left.

Currie was ok on the right but the forwards do not play together. We need someone to hassle and fight for every ball and who will run at people and commit them so Id slap Gary Hart up top with Knight.

Centre midfield? I have not got a bloody clue until Chippy and Charlie get back. Nicolas and one other, perhaps Hammond. Couldnt do any worse. If nto Hammond then Currie in the middle where he can use his passing better.

Kuipers is not as commanding as Roberts which I think explains some of the hesitation in the box but until he is fit there is not much else we can do.

My team:

Gk - Kuipers

RM Hinschelwood CB Cullip CB Virgo LB Mayo

RM Currie CM Nicolas CM Hammond LM Jones

F Knight F Hart

Subs-

Any of:
Robinson
Molango
Butters
El Abd
Harding
Jarret

Seriously, Hart was inept and inert in the reserves last week and, unusually for him, looked completely disinterested in that game.

Perhaps because he is getting played in the reserves and overlooked for the first team when we are playing so poorly?

Controversial. I suspect LI may have something to say.

Naturel Mon!

To be honest I don;t really rate Knight apart from the fact that he can score a decent penalty and is constantly looking for them.

AGAIN he went down like he had been shot about three time. It's very embarrasing. I found myself shouting at him to get up. We're 2-1 down FFS!

He has an attitude problem, whereas Robinson and Molango would play with blood in their boots for the Albion. Did you see Molango run on the pitch from the bench after we scored against Coventry? If that were Knight he would probably be sulking that he wasn't on the pitch in the first place. I'd like to see Molango and Robinson form a partnership. I think it has more staying power than Knight ever will. You never know they may even sore in open play!

Too early for this. Let's see who comes through the fitness tests in the next couple of days. I'm hoping Ben Roberts and Charlie make it.

Here's a thought, why not try Virgo up front, he's got an eye for goal and when he fucks up it wont hurt as much as if he's in defence.

Kuipers
El-abd Hinshelwood Butters Mayo
Currie Hammond*/Lee* Nicholas Jarrett
Virgo Robinson
* If these 2 can't get into midfield ahead of Hinsh,WTF are they still doing earning money from the club?
Subs. May,Jones,Hart & 2 of the better youth team players(Dessie to advise which)

chippy to return and all shall be well......three points on saturday and we shall be on our way, cant start picking holes when players are being shoved around in various postions, should still do a job though.

Team news is looking a bit grim for Saturday, according to the Argus.

Look's like a game too early for Charlie. So we have no choice but to continue with the experimental, makeshift midfield that is one of the main causes of our underperformance, particularly defensively.

Worse, our two best players, Knight and Cullip are nursing injuries and it's not 100% clear whether they'll make it.

There doesn't appear to be any news on Ben Roberts.

Mahe is also in trouble with a strain but arguably we do have a ready replacement for him in Jake who has shown similar form.

It could really be batten down the hatches time on Saturday.

The only bright spot is McGhee is sounding a little more optimistic on finding a targetman.

You'd have to say the odds on the season's revival starting on Saturday are looking long. Can we remain patient for a little longer. Actually, don't answer that, I think I know the response.
