No new known injuries, and Lamptey back from suspension.

Am I wrong?

Verbruggen

Lamptey
van Hecke
Webster
Estupinan

Minteh
Hinshelwood
Baleba
Mitoma

Georginio
Pedro
Difficult to go with anything other than this.
Maybe Jack to RB and Gomez/Ayari into CM, or Welbeck to start ahead of Joao Pedro -- but, injuries aside, this is the likeliest starting 11.

I’d like three in midfield for this one, stifle them then hit them on the break.

I'd have Gomez in for this game. He's direct and likes a forward pass. To win this we'll be hitting them on the break with pace and he's perfect for that
We'll definitely see Gomez at some point just depends whether Fab wants to start the game with him or finish it with him. As long as Baleba is fit, there really is no wrong answer to who plays alongside him. Hinsh, Ayari, Gomez or Wieffer will all do

I'm always nervous ceding the initiative, and our own tactical approach, against a team that's hurting.

If we give them too much respect, we'll lose. Now isn't the game to change a working system.

Yep, this is the line up.

Possiby Wieffer for Lamptey and Hinsh back to RB.
But this would be my preference

Looks good to me, with a very nice option of Welbeck, Gomez and March off the bench. Man City seem to flag last 30 mins so this is ideal.

Is Estupinan a definite starter? I think he’s been poor for a long time now and I’ve preferred Lamptey at LB to him.

Personally I’d start Hinsh at RB, Lamptey at LB and then Wieffer alongside Baleba although there’s nothing between Wieffer, Gomez or Ayari and I wouldn’t mind any of them starting.
I tend to agree, but FH seems to like the physicality of Pervis. He’s definitely not been at his best for a while now

Who are you dropping to find space for another midfielder? Georginio?
That would be a good shout, to be fair. Rutter is the sort of player who can absolutely ruin lesser sides, but is likely to get little change out of the best opponents.

Which reminds me, I hope City play Jack Grealish against us.

Great shame Kadioglu isn't fit. He'd be in for Estupinan.

If Tariq is unavailable as seems to be the case based on the Ghana FA ruling him out of this month's internationals with an ankle sprain, Fabian won't have a choice as to whom to play at LB - and with Veltman injured it'll almost surely be Estupinan on the left and Hinsh on the right with Wieffer as back up

Yes probably. He won’t though, he’ll go with what you’ve suggested as we‘re playing well and winning games.

I do think it’s an option though for these tricky away games, we’ve got a bit of pace these days to launch quick counter attacks.

I think the OP line up is almost certain, but this what I would also prefer. But it's all very fine margins, between 'very very good' and 'excellent' in each position. Which is nice.
