Stupid 5 sub rule

Yep, totally agree with that, but with Buckley on the bench.

I expect Lua Lua to start on the bench, possibly Sparrow ahead of Dicker and why do so many people think Buckley will be on the bench? I thought he would be a sure starter?

Unless Gus has a plan he hasn't let on we'll probably only play with one winger. It appers that he's trying to get Buckley to play the Bennett role in centre mid but he was on the bench vs Spurs and I get the feeling it still needs some work in training until Buckley is comfortable with the role (a bit like how he nurtured Noone into the side). Could be way off but my gut feeling is LuaLua will start. Think Buckley will start vs Gillingham.

I guess that Buckley is seen as the third winger given the good preseason form of Noone and Lualua. I think Lualua is a great player to come on from the bench in the second half, but he was outstanding at times against Spurs.....Aaron Lennon had to resort to pulling his shirt back to catch him.....he's got to start really.

Fair enough, makes sense and can't say I've read any reports from the Spurs game. But can Noone or Lua Lua play on the right wing? I'm sure Gus wants to be attacking at home and in his mind he plays with either 2 wingers or 3 strikers; so something has to give somewhere.

Noone can play on the right wing.

Seems about right.
Gus will only ever play with one out and out winger. If Buckley is not up to it Noone could even start on the right.

Noone a must starter for me, exceptional in pre-season and full of confidence.

4-4-2 two wingers and Bridcutt as the screen.

This, except I'd change Sparrow for Dicker, and put Dicker on the bench in place of Brezovan!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets face it, one of the 5 subs must be as good as Brez in goal...!!!
