Are there prospective buyers around then?

Aside from the fact that he does like to be in the papers, I'm not convinced he could easily relinquish control now.

If you've been in complete charge of an organisation, especially one where there's such an emotional involvement as a football club, can you really just walk away and watch somebody else make all the decisions?

I reckon it would do his head in- after all, he is a fan, not just a faceless director.

I could see him perhaps selling up, but then coming back in a few years down the line, because he doesn't like where any new owner is taking the club.

The rumour was the owner of GAC Logistics (UK) was mooted to be interested a while back and he is a big Palace fan, but who knows?

I agree with you entirely about him being a fan before being a chairman and i think that has been his downfall sometimes he has acted as a fan too much in some of his actions and outbursts, but he wears his heart on his sleeve and whatever anyone says about him he has only had his club's best interests at heart. Not every club's fans can say that about their chairmen.

SJ has been looking to sell for a couple of years now, i think the Bostock debacle has put the final nail in the coffin. He has put £39m of his own dough into CPFC and say what you like about him he has always put his money where his mouth is and like it or not you agree with 99.9% of what he says when he is on a rant. I personally will miss the bloke, yes he is outspoken, his barnet needs a chop and he should lay off the sunbeds for a bit, but he bleeds red and blue and he has always fought Palace's corner, sometimes too vigorously but he is a fan first and chairman second. Bless you Simon, football will be poorer without you IMO.

Good post mate. I will be gutted if he does sell up but he will make sure the right buyer comes in and who knows a new era could be just around the corner.

Property values have plummeted over the years. I blame the proliferation of tanning salons in SE25 personally. Seriously I hope Tangoman changes his mind as I find myself agreeing with him from time to time. I can understand his ire about Bostock but we had a very similar situation with Mr Zamora a few seasons ago. We gambled on keeping him or getting more cash and we ended up getting about half what we might have had.

He has actually been quoted as saying he is actively looking for a buyer this season so he can depart next summer, as i said he has ploughed £39m of his own cash into CPFC and i think he feels it is time to move on now

I agree, the last thing businessmen like is to be royally screwed by their own kind. Hes a footy fan whos put into the game rather than milked it and deserves praise even though hes a bit of a nobhead.

Thats not even a decent chant, Brighton fans haven't got any problems with Toys R Us as a company its the just the fact that they have a specific shop on hallowed ground that annoys Brighton fans.
