T20 - Middlesex v Essex; Hampshire v Kent

It would be kind of handy if Middlesex could get their act together and actually win a game in this competition.

So far ... not good enough, I fear.

Middlesex 76/1 off 9.5 overs.

A win for Hampshire against Kent would be helpful as well. Kick-off is at 7.00 pm for that one.

If we win Sunday will we definitely finish top?

No.

We could finish THIRD - if Kent and Essex win their last two games. A Sussex win on Sunday would, however, be enough to get through by being one of the best two teams in third place.

If Middlesex beat Essex, Hampshire beat Kent, Surrey beat Kent AND Hampshire beat Essex, we would finish in the top two - even if we LOSE on Sunday.

So we need to win at suddenly in-form Middlesex and Kent need to lose. One of Essex and Hampshire will win because they are playing each other. So they will be on 13 (Essex) or 12 (Hants) and even if Kent lose they are on 13.

hi all. hope my maths is right. if kent beat hampshire im sure we are through:yahoo:

I think your maths is spot on. We will definitely finish at least third in our group (Essex and Hants play each other on Sunday and only one can get above us even if we lose) and the third placed team in the North group will not be able to get as many points as us. Therefore we will be in the draw (but with an away tie). But if we win and Surrey beat Kent we'll be top!
