Sorry if this is Fixtures as I cant find the answer, but are Switzerland the first team to go out of the WC at the second round stage having not let in a single goal in normal play?

I know the WC has only been in league format for the last couple.

Mind you, several teams have been eliminated without losing a match (in normal/extra time)...

Scotland 3 matches 1974
Brazil 7 matches 1978
Cameroon 3 matches 1982
England 5 matches 1982
Brazil 5 matches 1986
Italy 7 matches 1990
England 6 matches 1990
Belgium 3 matches 1998
Italy 5 matches 1998
Holland 6 matches 1998
Ireland Rep. 4 matches 2002
Spain 5 matches 2002

Italy lost a match on penalties each time. In 1978, Brazil
were eliminated after the hosts Argentina beat Peru 6-0
in a second-round group match. Ireland and Spain were
also eliminated in penalty shoot-outs during the 2002
World Cup.

The Swiss also created a new World Record for boring the most people simultaneously ever!

Think you'll find Gareth Glover still holds the record for his threads on Spielberk.
