But how much has Hove Albion lost?

Always bugs me when the media gives every team except us their full name.

The Swiss Ramble is a Brighton Lad, used to go to the Top Rank back in 'the day' before becoming a megasuccess in the city.

Didn't he used to post directly on here? Did you send the boys round to warn him off your turf?

So TB's spend on the Albion will be c.£300m by the end of this season....?

That's quite a lot of money.

And some people STILL don't think he's a billionaire. Just let that sink in.

It might be to you, Moshe, but it's peanuts to the likes of Ben's Granddad and some of the PLAYERS on NSC.

Is that debt to the holding company or directly to the football club?

Reminds me that my main reason for wanting promotion is for Tony. Sure, I'll be pretty happy myself, but my over-riding feeling is of gratitude towards TB. He deserves this.

Bloom must have vast amounts of money to sustain that loss. We are incredibly lucky to have him.

Is it possible to make a judgement on whether we have stayed within FFP El Pres?

Yes we have, the club had to submit mid-term accounts to the FL, and there was a meeting of the FL board last week (I believe) which would have highlighted any clubs in breach.

Promotion bonuses are excluded from FFP calcs (£12-15m) as are academy costs (c.£5m) stadium/facilities depreciation (C.£5m), Community schemes (£2-3m) etc.

Bravo. I feel rather proud of our club for that. I appreciate fans from other clubs think our owners have been mugs but it felt important. To me at least.

Cheers El Pres for making the financial gubbins understandable.

You jest Pres, but you don't play, then coach, then referee football for SEVEN hundred years without making a tidy packet.

Not to mention player recruitment.
Plenty of CASH in that racket.

Tony Bloom had loaned the club £171 million at 30 June 2016, but converted £8 million of this into shares in July 2016.

I suspect he has also lent the club a substantial sum during the year, as I am predicting, should we be promoted, losses exceeding £35-40 million for the year to 30 June 2017.

TB's total investment is the loan of £171 million, plus 93% of the share capital, giving a further £81 million, which adds up to £252 million.

Ok. I understand a little better now. Thank you.
