Sullivan 6: Didn't do anything wrong, had to deal with a few dangerous back passes from Hinsh, cannot recall any saves he had to make. Distribution good.

Whing 7: Best performance from Captain Haddock for ages, even saw him in the Swindon six yard box on one occasion

Richards 6.5: Looked vulnerable for the first half hour, played a major part in the first goal, a lot better going forward than when he has someone running at him

Elphick 7: Won a lot in the air, very solid all round, still not quite the finished article

Hinshelwood 7: Looked dodgy first half as fell over a few times. Back to his best in second half.

McLeod 6: Good left foot that put over some decent supply, f***ing awful right foot. Doesn't track back his man very well.

Johnson 5: Anonymous, only looks decent when in the opposition third of the pitch

Fraser 6: Ran about a lot, but seems unsure what to do with the ball at his feet, did his best at breaking up Swindon when they had possession.

Virgo 6: Booked for a silly foul. Won a lot in the air, but clearly uncomfortable out wide on the right.

Forster 8: Magnificent leading of the line, still the best crosser we have at the club, and chased everything.

Fleetwood 7: Best game so far for the Albion, laid on the goal well and won the penalty. Needs supply to feet and in front of him to have an impact.

Subs:

Murray 7.5 Sublime stuff at times, showboating, flicks and tricks, and dispossessed defenders at will. The best cameo performance I have seen in 20 minutes in an Albion shirt

Mayo: 5 Don't think he touched the ball in the couple of minutes he had on the pitch

Sullivan 6 Competant handling and kicking inckuding the kick which caused our penalty but had very little to do save wise. Wont have a much easier game.

Whing 6 Best game this season
Elphick 7 Solid and won a lot of headers
Richards 6 More like he used to pay for us.

Virgo 7 Good allround performance.
Fraser 8 Did everything expected of him had a superb game breaking up their attacks and showed a lot of passion.
Johnson 5 Bit anonymous and the game passed him by.
McLeod 6 Got in some good crosses but still doesnt appear to be fit.

Forster 9 MOM Excellant captains/strikers performance
Fleetwood 6 Better performance than usual but still donot see him as the answer to our problems.

Subs:

Murray 7 Caused Swindon's defence immense problems when he came on
Mayo Not on long enough to give a mark.

Adamas 8 Got it exactly right team selection and substitutions.

Don't Mention The War
Sullivan 6- Didn't have to do much, but when called upon did well.

Whing 7- Alot better, hopefully this will be the old Whing from last season.
Elphick 7- Solid enough didn't put a foot wrong.
Hinshelwood 7- Better then Friday, put those ghost to rest after the OG.
Richards 6- Had a few nervous moments, but showed signs of the old Richards from last season, espically our first goal.

Virgo 6- Won headers in the air, not a right winger.
Johnson 6- Was alittle anonymous, but picked up the pieces in the midfield.
Fraser 5- When he has the ball it like a grenade, made a few decent tackles.
Mcleod 6- Didn't run enough, but crosses were dangerous.

Forster 9- Superb all round. Ran his socks off, and took his first goal well.
Fleetwood 8- Once again superb, one of his best games for us.

Subs:-
Murray 6- Should of taken his chances, but could be on his way out in January.
Mayo 0- one word for this WHY?!

Hinsh doesn't deserve a rating then? :p

Sullivan - 6 : Not a lot to do, really growing on me, feel confident with him in goal.

Whing - 6 : Not brilliant, but didn't do much wrong

Hinshelwood - 7 : Really good to have him back in the team again. A good reader of the game

Elphick - 8 : Mainly for his second half performance, which was fantastic. A bit too much hoofing in the first half.

Richards - 6 : When he's good he's good and when he's not he's, well... and all this in the space of one game!

Virgo - 7 : Did well to win headers and played well out of position. Unlucky with early blocked shot.

Fraser - 7 : A bit anonymous in first half, but shows maturity on the ball. Isn't strong enough, though.

Johnson - 6 : Not bad, needs to get involved more (not that it matters now)

McLeod - 7 : Some good crosses early on. Still doesn't look fully fit, but was far better on the left than Cox the other day.

Fleetwood - 8 : Brilliant, his pace caused them problems and I think Micky was right to start with him. Great through ball for opening goal and superb perseverance to win penalty.

Forster - 9 MOM : Brilliant performance. Emphatic finish for first and never looked like missing the penalty. Good of him to include both sets of fans in celebrations for the two goals :lolol:

subs

Murray - 7 : As it proved, we were right to start without him, but he was superb when he came on, wanted to make things happen.

Mayo - not enough time, but nice to see him.

BensGrandad, are you Fraser's dad or something?

Quite how you can watch that game, in which Fraser got near the ball about three times in total, and then make him man of the match is beyond me.

Not his father but I do or rather did know his grandfather:lol:

His was the best destroyer midfield display I have seen this season. He stepped in for El Abd and did the job perfectly. He stopped them playing through balls to Simon Cox and because of this they were very poor upfront. Unfortunately people like you are one dimensional and as such are not prepared to conceed that a player who is not one of your favourites could have a good game. I am posibly as guilty as regards Whing and Loft but have on occassions accepted that they have had a good game.

Agree with that. He is not blessed with talent. But hard graft and pride are sometimes need to complete the job. Well done Tommy :)

I didn't think Fraser did an awful lot today. Maybe I just don't apprecieate that side of the game, I only noticed him mis-placing passes for most of the game.

Ok, so if you or I went out there and offered hard graft and pride you'd be happy with that?

Of course, you are not going to get a team of 11 naturally talented players out there, especially at this level. This is one of the reasons Robinson doesn't get a look in, he has a modicum of talent, but no heart for the job at hand. Tommy wouldn't be on my team sheet every week, but he did his job today of breaking up the play.

Sorry, I'm just not interested in headless chickens. If there is one attitude that kills this club and our ambitions more than any other it is the willingness of a lot of people to accept hard-workers, loyalty and non-stop running over natural talent and ability. I don't give a shit if Fraser covered 100 miles this afternoon.

Your attitude and wishes are great for premiership players but we do not have players with that ability so they can only use what attributes they have and in TF and AE case it is willigness to stop ball playing players from spraying passes around the pitch and every team needs one of those players.

Yes I would love it if they we as good as Fabregas or Huddlestone who can do both the destroyer bit and also possess the skill you see as essential. Until then I am happy to see our basic midfielders stop the other team playing and beating us.

Would Fraser (or several others) have even been SIXTH choice midfielder in those seasons, let alone get anywhere near starting a game.

That could be said of a number of our players in this team in various positions, but you can only use what you have at your disposal at the time, until such time as you can replace them with better ones. So it is not really an argument.
