What do you all think the chances are that the game will actually go ahead. With parts of the pitch covered from sunlight by the stands, and the increasing drop in temperature, it's hit and miss:(

Isn't it?

Thing is, if it's called off then it will be due to frost so the ref will leave it until as late as possible to make a decision as it warms up/ defrosts. He wont even arrive at the ground until 1pm i presume. Therefore cant see a decision being made until 2pm ish, whilest i arrive at 1.00 and due to booking advanced trains cant return until 5.40.
Im not looking forward to a day in Swindon town center in freezing temperatures and possible snow :lolol:

There'll be hundreds in the same position as us.
Have been looking at the Weather forecast for the area all week, and it seems that it will be tonight and tomorrow night that the damage will be done as it drops to -4. Earlier in the week light snow was forecast for saturday but that has now changed, every website i've checked says friday night will be -3 degrees around about, and then 1 degree saturday morning and afternoon. Hopefully the frost will have melted in time, and i would think that with groundsmen etc and temperatures above zero we should be ok.

It'll be postponed. But not before there's a gung-ho announcement on the Saturday morning that its definitely on, followed an hour before the game by a further announcement that oh dear the temperatures plummeted unexpectedly and the game's been called off. Repeat of last Winter really.

surely at 17 you could get into at least one pub?

Well 2 of us are still 16 so even if we did, i'd doubt we'd get served. We will hopefully be in Spoons in town for a pre train Fry-up, and hopefully then get into the spoons in Swindon pre game.

spoke to one of the grounds team today and he reckons there wont be an issue and the game will go ahead. they have pitch covers on the parts of the ground that are shaded by the don rogers stand so fingers crossed should be fine. Problem I reckon is actually getting out of sussex.
