Couldn't find anything on this, apparently they have made Brendan Rodgers manager. I'd have been less than thrilled if we'd got him when Slade was sacked, I wonder how Swansea feel about this having just missed the playoffs last season.

Maybe someone can tell me what this guy has ever done apart from fail at Watford and Reading?

I wonder if they did approach Gus as that does seem a really shit appointment to me and if they were gonna take a gamble on an unproven manager I'd suggest Mr Poyet would have been a better bet?

I thought he did quite well at Watford. At least in terms of results.
But it doesn't seem like a good appointment.
I'm pretty sure the Swansea chairman's comments about manager's under contract referred to Gus.

Brendan Rogers is a terrific appointment for the Swans. He has a fantastic reputation in the game, did an excellent job at Watford and was unlucky to be given only 6 months or so at Reading.

I saw a few interviews with various Swansea players after he got the job and they concurred what a good appointment it was and how much they were looking forward to working with him.

screwed up reading though didn`t he? as soon as he left mcdermott came in and with pretty much the same players beat liverpool, hammered villa for first fourty five minutes in the quarter final and went on a long winning run.
swansea did well last season but have no goalscorer, if they did they might have gone up.

gash - made a right f*** up of reading. would not expect swansea to be challenging near the top this season. do clubs appoint him purely because he is mates with mourinho?

One of those managers who seems to be well known and respected lNSIDE the game, but not so well known or respected outside of it.

Yes, has a a fantastic reputation at academy and youth team level bringing players through the system, but still unproven when it comes to managing at first team level it would seem to me.

I have to say that I am suprised to hear that, I would have expected them to say that they thought he was shit and how they were dreading working with him.
