Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez is finalising his first Spanish raid with the signature of Espanyol striker Guillem Bauza Mayol.

Better known, thankfully, as Bussy, the 22-year-old striker has agreed a one-year deal with the club and is set to team up with the Swans early next week for pre-season training.

The striker is a former Spanish Under-16, 17 and Under-20 international who started his career with Mallorca.

He was a European Championship winner with the Spanish Under-16 team, playing in all six games alongside Atletico Madrid's 27m-rated striker Fernando Torres. He also started all three games for Spain in the Under-20 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago.

Bussy has already made a fact-finding trip to Swansea to view the Liberty Stadium and discuss the move with Roberto who, together with chief scout Kevin Reeves, has watched the striker on countless occasions in recent weeks.

"He is excited about joining Swansea City,'' explained Roberto. "And we are excited about having him in our squad. He has a fantastic pedigree at all levels in Spain, especially playing in the Under-20 World Cup, and is a great prospect.

"He's a different striker to the ones we've got. He's tall, good in the air and a good linkman. He plays deeper than an out-and-out striker and creates a lot of chances for people. In fact, his assist record is fantastic.''

Which would be a VERY impressive thing to do.

Sounds shit hot to me. Lucky Swansea.

not really, we signed leon knight from a better club than espanyol...now he's at MK dons

just because he's from a foreign club, doesn't make him good.....note their use of the word "reserve"

cue him banging in a hat-trick in both games against us, and finishing top scorer:lol:

Dont read too much into this, he actually plays for Espanyol B, and is not part of the first team squad.
