Wright at three makes sense. Keeps a bit of pressure off him and hopefully the openers can get a decent platform for him to come in with another explosive innings.

And imagine if Boycott was opening for Yorkshire.

We'd be chasing a total of about 14 if we batted second.

that will be the boycott who hit 130 odd on a sunday league game at hove back in the 70's will it?

I'm not sure if I agree with dropping Wright down to 3. The thing Sussex have learnt about 20/20 is that the big runs need to be scored as early as possible, so we need to play our most explosive players as openers... although in reality Nash and Murray are no slouches... it was Nash's innings against Slurrey that contributed greatly towards that victory.

Either way - the forecast is good, and it should be a cracking evening's entertainment.

I don't think the heavy shower yesterday will affect the pitch (as it's covered). The outfield will be nice and lush though.

I would say that at Hove, the pitches will almost always be spin friendly, in just the same way that every match we play away will be on a green seamers wicket to negate Mushy and Saqlain.

Maybe.

But those were the days when John Snow used to spend his Sunday afternoons fielding down by the marquees in the south-east corner, sharing beers with the spectators and smoking fags.
