Dave I'm sure he was referring to the recent trophies Chris Adams has won since turning Yorkshire down - and in that time Yorkshire have won nothing.

There are more dignified ways of pointing out someone's error than hurling abuse at them.

True, there are, however on this occasion and the tone of his original "humerous" remark aimed at my fellow Yorkshiremen, the reply was entirely justified.

However, hopefully he will read the list of honours and perhaps that will improve his knowledge of the game and its history.

I have no problem with that at all. there are ways and means. An example of which is I am in no way gloating on the fact that the County Champions have had to follow on against my team....and are struggling to win a game everyone would have thought a banker win against a side not brimming with confidence.

Exactly. I suppose that you have never made an ill-informed statement in your life, Dave?

loads of them, as most of my posts on here will testify, and I am constantly being pulled up for it by the great and good of this fine organ

what does invective mean?

I lost it when I moved to South Africa when I was 7, why?

Just didn't recognise a Yorkshire accent when you were on the radio. Do you support South Africa or England?

England obviously, I am English, I was born in Huddersfield.

Having said that, I did support the Yarpies when they played in the Tri nations this time as I have a load of Aussie and Kiwi mates at work.

Not that I particularily enjoyed living in SA, especially as we lived in the appartheit days and my dad was arrested for inviting a black family in for dinner once and threatened with deportation.....it wasnt a nice place really

No it doesn't sound too nice! But I expect it was interesting experience. Would go back and visit for the 2010 World Cup?

Oh I would love to go back. When you talk to a lot of the guys I work with in London who come from SA they say its unrecognisable ( granted I left 38 years ago so I hope it would have). I certainly would go back foir a holiday, but not to live...I am too long in the tooth to uproot anyway.

Are you thinking of going to the World Cup? If so try and get a trip to natal...the Garden Route from Cape Town all the way up to Durban was a brilliant holiday when we were there
