Yorkshire raced through more than five overs in just eight minutes to avoid a half-point penalty as the LV County Championship division one draw against Sussex ended in a near farcical spectacle at Headingley yesterday.

Part-time leg-spinners Younus Khan and Jacques Rudolph raced one another, with barely a one-pace run-up each - and it was the Pakistani who edged the head-to-head with one over which took just 35 seconds.

Sussex complied with their fellow title aspirants, Michael Yardy and Murray Goodwin patting the ball back to avoid any undue time-wasting' which might have accrued should a good shot have pierced the field....
