Sussex announce squad for Twenty20 Quarter-Final
26th July 2009
Squad news ahead of tomorrow's Twenty20 Cup Quarter-Final against Warwickshire Bears

SCCC today announced their squad ahead of tomorrow’s Twenty20 Cup Quarter-Final clash against Warwickshire Bears under lights at The County Ground, Hove. The match starts at 7.30pm with gate opening at 5pm.

After the disappointment of losing out in the Friends Provident Trophy final against Hampshire on Saturday at Lord’s, Sussex will be looking to bounce back in true Sussex style as they look to bag themselves a spot in Twenty20 Finals Day, which takes place at Edgbaston on Saturday 15th August.

Sussex have decided to waive the on gate premium to allow as many fans as possible to get behind the Sharks as they look to bounce back. Tickets will be frozen at £20 for Adults and £10 for Juniors. Visit the website for more information – Sussex County Cricket Club SCCC .

Speaking after Sussex’s loss last night, Mike Yardy, Sussex CCC Captain, said: “We're hurting at the moment, but knowing the boys they will be desperate to bounce back in the Twenty20 quarter-final on Monday. We’ve got a talented squad and we know we’re a very tough side to beat at Hove.”

The squad is as follows; Yasir Arafat, WAT Beer, JS Gatting, MW Goodwin, RJ Hamilton-Brown, AJ Hodd, EC Joyce, RJ Kirtley, RSC Martin-Jenkins, CD Nash, DR Smith, LJ Wright and MH Yardy (c).

I'd go with this XI tomorrow, bat all the way down to number 11 with plenty of tight bowling options, I think Kirtley's days are numbered now, he's far too expensive on most occasions.

JS Gatting
CD Nash
MW Goodwin
DR Smith
EC Joyce
MH Yardy (c)
LJ Wright
RJ Hamilton-Brown
Yasir Arafat
AJ Hodd (w)
RSC Martin-Jenkins

Prior for Gatting, and that should have been the team yesterday.:US:

Beer for Gatting..and open up with Nash and RHB. I'd like to see that.

Save me a seat, I shall be there and will be armed with SHARON and hope everyone gets a taste of the juices it provides
Make sure I get a bit of the SHARON action tomorrow... If I have enough time I may visit Taj to see what fruity delights I can find... I wonder if they'll be able to give me Syphilis?
