Sussex: Yardy, Nash, Goodwin, Adams, Hopkinson, Hodd, Martin-Jenkins, Rayner, Beer, Lewry, Kirtley

Nottinghamshire: Jefferson, Shafayat, Wagh, Prince, Wood, Read, Franks, Ealham, Ferley, Pattinson, Shreck

Big risk picking Kirtley, would have picked Aga or Liddle. Good to see Beer getting his chance.

I would agree. I take it stan has an injury.

That said he did seem to actually have decent line & length on monday & was bowling at decent speed. I get the impression that this could be the last chance saloon for Kirtles at the longer format tho

If you're going to play two spinners then Rayner and Beer are, imo, the two correct choices. RHB has got the variation to make a good one day spinner but I'd rather see two full time spinners in our side. If Beer is going to progress then he should be playing in games like this, hopefully Mushy will be roaming around the boundary giving him advice and encouragement as he bowls.

I can see that.

53-0. Great start. The umpires have already changed the ball twice, in the 6th and 13th overs. Now banging the second one into the ground to give it a bit more wear!

Third ball nearly lost under the covers but Darren Pattinson has just found it. Sussex now 73-0. :)

Yardy gets his 50. But then Nash out for 28 immediately following. 82-1. Shame - they were going well. Hodd in now, not Goodwin.
