Well its getting close with Glamogan currently in a tight game against Middlesex in Cardiff, so goes without saying we need to win.

Weather looks forcased for light showers Thursday and Saturday.

The side that drew with Surrey was:

Yardy (C)
C Nash
Joyce
Goodwin
Thornely
Adkin
B Brown (W)
Arafat
Rayner
Panesar
Collymore

Perhaps Hatchett and Wright will be recalled and replace Adkin and Thornely, Hodd for Brown as options.

Looks like the Glamorgan v Middlesex game will be a result but hopefully Glamorgan won't set Middlesex any more than 200 to win in the 2nd innings. We will need to win this game as I back Glamorgan to beat Middlesex and claim a high points tally despite missing out on the batting points.

I should have kept quiet, Glamorgan now 107 ahead. Dalrymple has a broken finger so will bat 9.

Hopefully we will use our home outfield advantage to keep up with Glamorgan in the title race.

From Sussex County Cricket Club

Luke Wright returns to the squad following his knee injury and is also joined by seamers James Anyon, Lewis Hatchett and wicketkeeper Andrew Hodd.

Derbyshire are currently bottom of the table having won only two of their matches so far this season, but with the lower reaches of the standings so tight they will be looking to make progress in the final stages of the season.

The squad is as follows:

JE Anyon
BC Brown
CD Collymore
MW Goodwin
LJ Hatchett
AJ Hodd
EC Joyce
CD Nash
MS Panesar
OP Rayner
LJ Wright
MH Yardy (c)
Yasir Arafat

Cant see Brown not playing after his good game at Guildford, possibility of Hodd playing just as a batsman instead of Thornley?

trouble is they never forecast the rain today, even the metoffice rain radar fails to pick up heavy drizzle (like today) so you cant be too sure about this week. Tomorrow should be fine until mid afternoon by the looks of it, still even with 5-day forecasts I usually only take notice of the next 12-24hours and nothing beyond that ;)

Wish I was up there today but work gets in the way. I am down to go Sunday for the big one day game agaisnt Somerset.

Weather is bright and sunny in central Brighton so lets hope it reachs the furthur corners of West Sussex.

I am pretty slow on the uptake and only discovered the Live Argus feed the last two games and find them an excellent way to get detail of what is happening, must see if they work on my phone.

Sussex have a decent record at Horsham. They have not lost a Championship game there since 1998, ironically against this week’s opponents.

DOOMED....
