Deepest, darkest Sussex
Went yesterday. Left after an hour because bloody cold. Who wants to watch cricket in a winter coat. Just a joke because of Hundred are playing 4 day games until end of September. More evidence for ECB to say no interest in championship. Crowds would be well down for 20/20 and Hundred if forced to play this time of year
Far be it from me to defend The Hundred, but hasn’t county championship cricket always spilled over into early / mid September?

It’s unusually cold for this time of year, but I don’t think that’s the ECB’s fault. This time last year it was the hottest day of the year!

It used to finish in the first couple of weeks of September. The big 60 over final on the first Saturday. September is normally a nice month for cricket.

This bromance with these commentators is getting profound. Love it.

Just far enough away from LDC
We might go up, we might not.

But isn't it great to have a competitive Sussex side again. A side which seems well led, with players with skill, who you can really get behind.

Loving our revival
And totally coincidental that it follows Rob Andrew sodding off. The man has the midas touch in reverse

50 for Clark.

Will be interesting if they decide to dash for the 4th batting bonus point in the poor light.

450 is max isn't it? I can't see them going for 400 let alone that. Keep building the lead, weather set fair tomorrow. The other two sides only got three batting points.

Got to go for 450 and max batting / bowling points here.

Should be ok……… he says……..
We'll certainly not be getting maximum (5) batting points.

There are only 9 overs left, of the 110 that count for bonus points.

14 runs to reach 350 (3 points) is a given.
64 runs in 9 overs, for 4 points is achievable if they decide to chase it.
114 runs in 9 overs, for 5 points is out of the question.

Winning the game is far more important. After the little collapse in the middle, they've batted exactly how they should have, IMO.

Weather looks a bit ropey in Leicester tomorrow so may they can pull one out of the bag on the last day, if they get there.

Losing time at Middlesex too.
