I usually drink Yorkshire Tea and enjoy a Yorkshire pudding with a roast.

Sounds like a Tory prospect touring an East Riding marginal :lolol:

I live in Rotherham now.
If that is not enough, Tony Towner is still revered in these parts. (His partner in crime Ronnie Moore, who we see on the dog-walk, has god-like status.)
Richie 'Bear' Barker has a strong bond with the locals.

Good thread - I'm Sussex born & raised, yet I have LOADS of connections to God's own country.

My aunt & uncle both worked at Leeds Uni.

My cousin lives in Leeds.

I've been to Leeds Castle.

I've walked on York paving often.

I've had a fair bit of Taylor's coffee in my time.

I ate a Yorkie bar once.

Errrr

I quite enjoyed Last of the Summer Wine and All Creatures Great & Small when I was 8.

My other half is from Brinsworth.

Ties that bind people not random anti-yorkshirian southern elite bias, that gets us nowhere.

After all we gave them Banoffee Pie (one of their 5 a day) while they gave us Geoff Boycott...

...ok that's not great, but it's a start to the peace talks.

Well, warm hearted comedy poking fun at Yorkshire stereotypes (but also at the rest of us) - as in the Hale and Pace clip above, is something that binds us, its very British. I was first sent that clip by a proud son of Hull.

On the other hand the litany of racist, sexist, homophobic jokes in the Harry Enfield clip has shocked me - mostly because I know I would have laughed at that in the 90's. How times change because today I thought that was one of the unfunniest sketches I've ever seen. I hope Harry himself would cringe at that today.

Oh, and has anyone mentioned Mark Beeney yet? Saved our bacon that did.

I always liked the description from, I think, golfer Mark James. "A Yorkshireman is like a Scot but without their sunny disposition and generosity of spirit"

I am told that people from Yorkshire will reuse a tea bag. I can’t imagine anyone from Sussex engaging in such an act. Could this be the show stopper?

I've got a mate from Sheffield, Blades fan. One's enough. Doing my bit.

Mind you, he's lived in Worthing for 25 years so he's half normal now.

Not sure who said it but "You can always tell a Yorkshireman, you just cannot tell him very much"

The Yorkshire tea adverts are brilliant.

Very self depreciating or at least self aware.

the Kaiser Chiefs doing the hold music, Parky holding interviews, Dynamo in the warehouse and the best Sean Bean doing the inductions.

Do it for yorkshirrrrrrrrrrre!!!!!!!!!

never get tired of it.

The most curious thing..
I lived in Hull for a bit (except it was still Humberside at the time so that may not count).
