Seen a few posts on other forums saying we will be the whipping boys of the PL next season. Then saw this in response, from a Liverpool fan -

"They've been around the top of that tough league for years now .
They've nothing to fear , top 7 aside the PL is pretty dire."

I agree with him entirely.

I'm hoping we will be ok. We're not going to set the league alight, and on their day, the likes of Man City, Chelsea, Spurs will tear us a new one. But as your post says, below that top lot I think we can hold our own. Win a few, lose few and hopefully finish higher than 18th

If you can pick up 1.5 points per game against the bottom 10 teams in the division, then you'll have around 30 on the board which is what the likes of Burnley, Watford, Leicester, Bournemouth have done. West Brom and Stoke have poor records against the top half, worse than a lot of teams well below them, but they have picked up 2ppg against the bottom half teams.
