I got tickets with no problem about 2pm today, so should be ok. Reckon a lot of people will have left it late to see what the weather looks like.

I take it HE will be playing? *rubs hands together eagerly*

YES there are plenty of £15 tickets left as of 5.12pm when i bought mine.

NO the serial misogynist and texter will NOT be playing. Neither will Creepy Crawley.

Five/5 it is then and we bat first, is there REALLY any point?

Presumably this avoids getting into the contentious issue of refunds.

Sussex had won the match with 1 ball to spare - Surrey need 10 off the final ball. And oddly enough, they played that pointless final ball (which was dispatched to the pavilion boundary for 4).

On the way home, we noticed on the back of our tickets that tickets bought in advance would be entitled to a refund if 9.5 overs or less were bowled.

I wonder whether the two were linked? :jester:

Probably Wozza, I'm not entirely sure. Anyway, same time next year? Yes, I do think so. It's a bit PONY that 20/20 is only played for two weeks a year. :(

The match wasn't necessarily over - Kirtley could have bowled a succession of wides or no-balls.

Indeed Wozza.

And Brovian, of course he could. He could have bowled 4 successive wides and then dollied one up to be smashed for six. It happens all the time. ???

Deffo not, Warne has been rested for the 20/20, prob part of the reason Hants has been so poor at it so far.

Or indeed bowled one single wide delivery that went for four, then got hit for six next ball. Yes it does happen all the time. In 20/20 anyway.

I think you're being picky. If the opposition need ten to win, you are unlikely to bowl anything other than gentle, straight controlled ball. Which is what happened, and one of the reasons it got slapped for 4.

More importantly, it was lovely to see how Rikki Clarke turned the game for us. With Sussex on the ropes a 15/2 off 2 overs, the fat kid took his turn and got slapped all round the park by Nash & CA. His impressive batting contribution (a measured ONE off three balls) also led me to wonder how Moores could have even considered dropping this pub cricketer from the England set up. :D

It was a quality 5 over slog out, I'm sure they could have started it earlier and made it 10 overs a side

So how does the quarter final draw work? Is it just all teams in the hat or is there some kind of seeding? It looks like the games aren't until 17th and 18th

Oh don't take the piss just 'cos you're wrong. Ok, yes, it's unlikely, the same as scoring two goals in stoppage time, but it can happen - therefore the match wasn't over. :p
