Great to see Lewry's improvement in his batting last season has been maintained. Shame Ward didn't get his ton but the disappointment is more than tempered by the start to the season from our very own Widen top 5 cricketer of the year - and this sopposedly carrying an injury

Lancashire have come out of the starting blocks with a bang, they've got a helluva batting line up and as long as the weather holds up at Old Trafford are surely going to be there or thereabouts at the end of the season -they've got a tough task next week though

How much am I looking forward to it, I can feel a days holiday coming up next Friday

........ and then there's the West Indies and Sri Lanka
