But isn't that the appeal isn't that how it has always been, better follow your local club than jump on the premiership bandwagon to a club you have no heritage with or no connection to.
Yes when Falmer is built we may kick on, but we will never be consistent, yes we may pop up in the Premiership every few years (and that would do me) and beat Liverpool away on the Saturday but then lose at home to Orient on the Tuesday in the cup.
Isn't this inconsistency what makes us love the Albion even more, up. down round and round.
I am sure we can be consistent enough at our own level soon to get into a challenging position to get to the Prem in 2011 or so.
Lets just support the club for what they are Brighton and Hove Albion OUR Brighton and Hove Albion.
