Professionally ? No, that list is about as relevent as a list of North American cricket teams.

It's like most events in America, massively OTT and hyped to the max. I saw some of it one year and just cringed and had to turn it off.
Some people actually get more excited about the adverts that are going to get shown and the half time show, it's supposed to be a sporting event FFS.
I might be inclined to watch the highlights, if they just put together all the action from the game (without the pointless timeouts every 3 minutes), it's probably quite an entertaining game but it gets ruined by the stop/start nature of it.

It's rather more than 'just a game' it's actually an event. Bear in mind that all NFL teams play a mere eight home games if you discount pre season and play-offs unlike the minimum 23 that Albion play and that's not counting cup games. If you've ever been to an NFL game you'd see a vast difference in how they do it. They actually treat the fans as human beings for a start. The game is highly entertaining as long as you understand it. I tend to equate it to playing chess but with real people rather than wooden figures. In fact you may or may not be aware but Rugby used to be a lot more stop start until the Rubgy Union changed a lot of rules. The times are not every three minutes either but when they happen it allows for advertising which is what pays for the whole set up. Bear in mind that NFL teams, unlike most Premiership clubs, make lots of money and they don't require rich benefactors to subsidise them.

You didn't say that in your original post to which I replied. American Football is played outside of North America.

The WLAF (World League of American Football) which was professional and played in Europe was disbanded in 2007

I know that, I watched all the Monarchs games. However they were professional. The teams you mentioned I've never heard of and I have been following the NFL for the better part of thirty years.

One surprising thing in a country dedicated to capitalism is that the NFL takes money from the rich teams and gives it to the poor teams which is why a team like Green Bay which has a population of 100,000 has as much of a chance of making it to the Super Bowl as the New York Jets.

They share the wealth through salary caps and revenue sharing. TV is their biggest source of revenue and they split it 32 ways so nobody falls too far behind.

You may not like NFL but you have to admit that their system is much fairer than the UK system which has now divided football clubs into the super rich and the rest and means the game has suffered as a result.

Thanks for that.

I think the World Cup Final comfortably trumps both though, saw figures of 619 million for the 2006 Final.

American sport definitely has a better set up (although don't like the way teams move around now and again) but would a similar system work in football?

Green Bay are owned solely by the fans. You don't even get that in Germany in football.

It's an entirely different system, you only have to look at the method of getting players, can you imagine Alex Fergueson being happy with 'The Draft' ?

It's an entirely different system, you only have to look at the method of getting players, can you imagine Alex Fergueson being happy with 'The Draft' ?

Absolutely not, but I'm sure United would still wind up manipulating it better than most and staying in the upper echelons.

Oh Really?

Here is the list of American Football teams in Europe. This page is updated monthly.

■Hampshire Trashers (Hampshire)

That is quite possibly the WORST sporting team name, EVER.

A rather Socialist system, if you will. Which is rather ironic, given the American media's traditional dismissal of anything even vaguely socialist in concept as Commie crap, to be feared and destroyed.

Meopham, Kent.
It did make me laugh, though, the Green Bay players, at the end, were walking around in their t-shirts proclaiming 'World Champions'.

If they do not have the right to proclaim themselves to be "World Champions" who does?
