Just what ı wanted to hear! Was so looking forward to this season with Di Canio and to replace him we get Gus. Brilliant!!!! Hope he does really well but gets us in the cup and we beat them! :)

I reckon those Fulham and Newcastle wins and Sunderland's defeat to Man Utd on Saturday might have crystallised everyone's mind a little...

Brighton / Hove actually
Gustavo Poyet has written and printed up his contract and is traveling to Sunderland to wake Short up at 6.30am for his signature. Poyet is planning to announce himself as the new coach at 06.31 tomorrow morning :lolol:

Brighton factually.....
Gus will have little or no say who they sign.

Sunderland signed 15 players in the summer, I can't see there being many more in January.

And further more they will may need tried and tested players if they are still in a relegation dog fight not championship players. Not worried and if they do come in for one or two players, I can not see Bloom letting them go cheap !

Will TB even contemplate selling players on long contracts to Gus' new club?

If he offered £3.5m - £4m for Bridcutt he'd be foolish not to take it. We do miss Bridcutt, but if we want to hit the FFP target it will take a transfer IMO.

Sorry to say it but players are commodities that are bought and sold, but before we start an online petition headed 'hands off our players' it might be worth waiting until it's officially announced that Poyet is the new Black Cats boss.....

Lucky *******s, they have have a top quality manager there.

Seeing as every post you make sticks your tongue further up Poyet's arse - can we expect you to piss off to Sunderland too ?

And Gus will of course make moves for our players, but do Sunderland have a need for Ulloa or Bridcutt - both of which would command large fees due to contract lengths.

From the Telegraph piece: "Poyet was under serious consideration for the post in March before losing out to Di Canio as Sunderland were reluctant to pay the £2.5 million compensation required by Brighton." This would tie in nicely with Tony Bloom's statement at the fans' forum that Gus had asked to leave BHA in March. 2+2 = 4, maybe? Or, maybe not!

I'm an Albion fan, just gutted that we lost such a quality manager for nothing.

Thats a no then - and he left because he wanted too and a load of fairground stuff happened alongside it.

As shown on a previous cover on TSLR - the saga deserves an Oscar.......(slight pun un-intentional).
