I still can't get passed what happened at the end, we are in the position we find ourselves in currently because of his intransigence, I want to wish him well but I am not there yet.
On top of that Sunderland is a bad choice for him and he is a bad choice for them. They have just experienced and rejected a manager very similar to Poyet and they are not ready for more. It will not work.
If he comes after our best players with promises of money and Premiership glory it will just be the final betrayal for me.
Too strong......?

We do not know what happened at the end of last season, as for the game, the players have to take a lot of responsibility for the poor performance, they just did not want it enough and Palace did. If he comes after our players then I would hope we could get as much as we can for them.

But there still might be a court case, it would be illegal for anything to be in the public domain would it not?
So you are saying it was not gross misconduct, the club fibbed?

Is it possible do you think Martyn that the club may have exaggerated some of the charges to fit their own agenda?

I'm not saying they have by the way before you ask another question.

You don't feel the whole gross misconduct thing sways the blame one way or the other?

No, not without knowing the COMPLETE and TRUE story.

Chances are, there's only three people who know it and you can be certain, one persons version of events will be different. Unless it goes to court, to you, me and everyone else not privy to the board and inner sanctum, it will always be speculation, chinese whispers, innuendo, she said, he said, what some bloke told my mate down the pub and so on........

Not forgetting what is/has been speculated on NSC of course......

Gross misconduct is such a broad church, in truth it could be something relatively minor.

Say GP had got p*ssed at the Christmas party & called Paul Barber a c**t. That's gross misconduct. The truth is we don't know and we won't know.

I will tell you what I am saying. You are blaming Gus for us not getting to the play off final and about the way the season ended. What I do know is that he asked to leave in March, on the field we had a great finish to the season and finished well. Gus could not have done anymore then he did. We had a great result away to Palace and then we had a bad game at home, my opinion is that the occasion got to some of the players and that is why we lost the game. Palace also went on to Beat Watford, who everyone thought was a shoe-in. I do not believe it was anything to do with Gus's management style or lack of interest. He was going to leave us at the end of the season and dare I suggest that the club who wanted to save money, decided that they would sack him for gross misconduct. Now you could argue the pros and cons of their actions. But what I do know is that it has affected the players and the team and we find ourselves playing catch up now. In hindsight I think it would have been better to let him walk away and got a manager in straightaway so that he had plenty of time to plan for this season. Gus will go on to bigger and better things, while we continue to try and recover from the fallout.

I accuse you of gross misconduct sir:albion2:
And I accuse you of gross misconduct. But I will never tell anyone why, this is an internal matter, and a court case could be pending.

That doesn't make sense though. If we wanted to save money, we should have kept him until another club wanted him, when we'd have received a large buyout payment. The only reason to get rid of him, and lose such a buyout payment, was if he really did something that the club felt was not good for BHA.

Well I am going on TV later and will have my phone off so please don't do anything that I won't be expecting while I am being interviewed
I won't announce anything that I haven't given details of to your lawyers first. I trust you'll be in contact with them?

Blimey, that's the first post I've seen that paints Gus as blameless.

The possible defence for Poyet on here is that the PFA, who must know what happened, said in their view it wasnt misconduct that warranted the sack, but then again they are a footballers union and everybody knows the damage and misinterpretation a union can cause.
