Jesus, it's really not very hard. The game Yorkie was talking about ("after Southampton he won at Wycombe") was actually a home FA Cup tie against Wycombe. However, as it was in the FA Cup, it has no relevance to a discussion about Gus's league record or his initial impact on our position. Nor does another game mentioned against Rushden, as that too was in the cup. Gus didn't face Wycombe in the league until December 28th. And yes, it was one of his 3 wins in 14.

A simple 'I only listed the league games, the home Wycombe game that I referred to is not included in the list, we happened to play them in the league later that season, that's what is in bold' would have sufficed.

Buckley has been shocking for a all this year ever since Poyet publicly said he was better than Zaha and he signed a new contract. Barnes is only proving once again he's not up to being a lone striker, nothing new there. Bridcutt's injury takes time. Oh and Dave was signed under the new regime.

Dave was signed after it was publicly stated he would not be offered a contract. This tells me we probably missed out on another target, so went back to Dave. Nobody likes being second choice. Maybe he just doesn't feel the love anymore. Whatever it is, he is a shadow of the player he was last season. It may well be he is a slow burner and he will get it back but the signs aren't good atm.

But a working clock it wrong 24/7 unless someone sets the right time on it.

That doesn't make any sense.

The purpose of a clock is to tell the time. Given this, if it hasn't been set to the right time then it can't be said to be working.

There appears to be a functioning mechanism inside - but what is displayed is rendered completely meaningless. Reminds me of some of your posts.

I dread him taking a penalty ATM.. On his current form he would miss it

On the contrary, he would score it, which would give him the confidence to kick on from there. Seriously, I think he is missing Orlandi more than Poyet. They did some nifty one-twos creating some great goals last season.

I have heard the same (not from Twitter) from several entirely different sources, but it seemed to apply to staff not players.

Johnny Byrne suggested on BBX SX Saturday that some of the players may still be in the Gus camp and taking time to come to terms with playing for a new manager. He said that when he was at QPR and Venables was replaced by Mullery there were a number of players who did not take to Mullery's appointment .

In that case, they need to pull their finger out.

Great move for Sunderland and Gus. He will keep them up for sure.

Also means Palace are certainties to be bottom now. It's a win win.

Well let's start by saying I don't now anything. But going on what I see who is that number 21 because it's not the same Dave that was here last season. Buckley is not exactly on fire. Barnes, well enough said and Bridcutt's injury is certainly dragging on a bit, even TK seems a bit under par compared to last season....They are just observations and based on nothing apart from the view from my seat. Can anyone really argue with any of that, honestly???

Well Buckley, I can argue with. You have to go back to the 11-12 season for consistent performances from him. If anything I thought he'd been a little bit better this year than last. I think you're being very harsh on PIG & Birdders as well.

No doubt though, there will be some who miss the old manager, that's natural & it's really up to the new manager to get rid of that feeling

You predicted from about 3 years ago that Gus would be gone any day. You were EVENTUALLY always going to be right there - broken clock right twice a day etc.

Which bearing in mind he had one of the longest tenures of any manager in the football league actually means KTR was wrong really.
