It was stated on Twitter this morning that the working atmosphere at the amex is not a happy one at the moment. Anybody who has worked in a business where a hr incident has occurred and also where changes are made in terms of cost cutting will tell you that this is not unusual.

Is it likely this is the same on the playing side?

I would hope not (but wouldn't be surprised)

'stated on twitter'.

By WHOM on twitter ?

Which players do you think were loyal to Poyet? And you think these players are now deliberately sabotaging their own careers by playing worse for Oscar?

Well let's start by saying I don't now anything. But going on what I see who is that number 21 because it's not the same Dave that was here last season. Buckley is not exactly on fire. Barnes, well enough said and Bridcutt's injury is certainly dragging on a bit, even TK seems a bit under par compared to last season....They are just observations and based on nothing apart from the view from my seat. Can anyone really argue with any of that, honestly???

Also Liam seems like a model pro.

He does, and is very keen to further his international opportunities, so if anybody is suggesting that he is deliberately playing below par, or perhaps pretending to be injured, that would be very strange.

Despite all that, IF Poyet did wish to take Liam to Sunderalnd, and was prepared to pay a big premium to do so, it would not be the end of the world, assuming Oscar was given those funds to reinvest. I'd be very sorry if he left before we had a chance to see what Oscar can get out of him, though.

Under him I watched some of the most entertaining and succesful football I've seen at Albion so I wish him nothing but success.

No, you're wrong. Or confused. He didn't win 'at' Wycombe or Rushden in his opening games as they were both at home. And in the FA Cup. So therefore not what we're talking about. Following the Southampton game, he lost five of his next six league games and only won three out of 14. Here, I'll write out all the results for you if you like. I'll even put the wins in bold to make it easier to count them.

Brighton 0-3 Leeds
Norwich 4-1 Brighton
Brighton 0-1 Charlton
Exeter 0-1 Brighton
Brighton 1-2 Colchester
Swindon 2-1 Brighton
Brighton 0-0 Orient
Wycombe 2-5 Brighton
Walsall 1-2 Brighton

Stockport 1-1 Brighton
Brighton 0-1 Millwall
Orient 1-1 Brighton
Brighton 0-0 Huddersfield
Brighton 1-2 Norwich

He was appointed on November 10th and didn't win a home league match until February 27th. I can also recall us being absolutely terrible in a number of those matches. Anyone trying to claim he made an instant impact is talking out of their bottom.

Now you're moving the goal posts. Who said anything about whether the wins were home or away?

I have heard the same (not from Twitter) from several entirely different sources, but it seemed to apply to staff not players.

Dave - looks almost exactly the same as at the start of last season - no proper pre-season.
Buckley - mixed bag, as he has been ever since he got here.
Barnes - trying hard with mixed end product, not much different to his time with Gus.

Well it's all guesswork.

mmmm I think history shows that not all of what I write is guesswork. But carry on.

You predicted from about 3 years ago that Gus would be gone any day. You were EVENTUALLY always going to be right there - broken clock right twice a day etc.

I'm confused. You say he didn't win 'at' Wycombe, then list the matches and have bolded a win that according to your list was 'at' Wycombe.

Same as others have theories on how we would be doing without injuries and how much FFP (ha!) is impacting, I've also got some thoughts on this. From what I can piece together and little more than supposition this wouldn't surprise me at all

Buckley has been shocking for a all this year ever since Poyet publicly said he was better than Zaha and he signed a new contract. Barnes is only proving once again he's not up to being a lone striker, nothing new there. Bridcutt's injury takes time. Oh and Dave was signed under the new regime.
