Following on from the camping recommendations, which we are slowly working through, we will be making our first Amex visit on Sunday. Being an Amex newbie, and hearing all kinds of travel horror stories on here, where's best to park and the best method of travel to and from the Amex? Also, when best to arrive there? Really want to take in as much of the atmosphere as possible....

the racecourse is pretty good to be fair. Massive and usually pretty underused (although seems to be getting a bit busier). Obviously not too far from the ground but can get a bit stuck getting from Woodingdean-Falmer

You have to buy a ticket for Sunday for the Racecourse. £3 each and register your car number plate. It's on the ticket site.

Getting there Sunday will be fun, and all part of the match day experience. Depending where you are, use whatever form of transport you can, it will be packed. One quick pointer, buses to Lewes are few and far between so train in from that direction.
As for the ground. If this is your first and only visit, between 1.5 & 2 hours before KO.
Walk around the stadium to see the sights.
Visit the shop (Dicks Bar may be too crowded).
The main area is in front of the shop where there may be a live band but will be a bar and chippy (look like a local and drink Harveys).
Inside the ground there are more bars and food so allow 45 minutes inside. Pre match video show starts around 30 minutes before KO but 20 mins is best. No alcohol in seat remember.
Post match the north stand concourse is the liveliest but all bars are open and you can move anywhere within the stadium.

Notice at Brighton station today suggests there will be a certain amount of chaos on Sunday as well as Saturday.

Parking and riding from Hove Sainsburys. Trains will be an absolute ballache.

Aiming to get to the ground about 3, hope the weather is good!

Twenty minute brisk  walk to The Swan at lunchtime.
A gallon of Guinness then stagger home.

Oh - - - - - - watch some footie in between
