Football ground guide reckons theres a couple in town and a cricket club or something near the ground which is pretty friendly.

My plan is to follow the biggest crowd of stripes I can find!

Check for engineering works on the line between Brighton & London.

Alternative route is the 10:10 from Brighton to Reading, change there for Swindon. Goes along the coast not up towards London.

Leaving South Wales at 1000 to arrive in Swindon for midday. Damn weekend repairs add 30 mins on the the journey. A few tins to keep me going I think.

Anyone else coming form my way?

No? Thought as much!

If you want to avoid having to change in London try the 9.40 Brighton - Manchester train. It's unaffected by the Gatwick - Reading engineering works as it doesn't use the 'north downs' line, instead going through west London. Change at Reading for a 12.30 arrival at Swindon. There is a similar train on the way home, leaving Reading at 8.02. We've reserved seats on both as I can see them being busy. Only problem is that both services are run by Virgin, so it's pot luck as to whether they will actually run.....
