Hey, I'm sure there are lots of threads on this but here it goes...

Where is the best place to get a Sunday roast in Brighton & Hove? I'm going for one later but we don't know where to go.

The Shakespeare's Head, bit pricey but you will not be disappointed

Definitely this. I've been to loads of places but it's the only place that comes close to a decent home cooked roast. The lamb shanks are amazing.

I should stress that this is the Shakespeare's Head on Chatham Place, not the one on Spring Street.

I know it's off-message but last Sunday we went to the East Beach Cafe in Littlehampton and had the most wonderful fish and chips I have ever eaten. Not dirt cheap and not a huge portions but just lovely. You can park next door and walk across the pebbles afterwards. We're going back.

The Hartington on one of the roads from hartington road to elm grove (one with a church on the elm grove corner).

Or the Walmer Castle on queens park road near albion hill.

How much was it, given that they charge £9 for a small cheese sandwich?

About £15. If you want quality, recommend there. If you want cheap, Toby carvery or similar :)

All local produce, well good and a good portion.

Reporting live from The Cow, formerly The Tin Drum at seven dials.

Dark star on tap, roasts excellent, atmosphere really good, despite kids allowed.

Recommended 8.5/10

15 quid for two at the westhill :)

While you're here; thanks for a great night the other week. I loved the music Johnny was knocking out. If you're ever passing my way be sure to get in touch.

For the rest of you, Saturday night at The West Hill is a treat as Rounder Records knock out some great music. Throw in some nice ales and a lovely landlord and you need little more.
