Have you seen him play much?

I haven't seen him live but caught a fair few games on TV. He's got a lot of good attributes. Decent in the air, fairly quick, good feet and certainly knows where the goal is.

Just heard that he headbutted an opposition player after last night's game so may well be missing the playoffs.

they're 3rd now, I'm sure if they were to miss out for a second time the lure of first team pl football plus probably a considerable wage increase would prove too much to resist

If they don't go up, it's highly likely that he'll leave and there will be no shortage of suitors. This year he's been linked with clubs in Spain (Betis and Valencia) and abroad (Napoli and Roma). It was rumoured earlier in the year that Betis had bid 6 million Euros, which was of course rejected out of hand. That's what Almeria paid for him, more or less. I reckon he'd go for 12-15 million.

definitely within our reach, and the sort of signing we'd make imo.

He sounds not unlike the last forward we bought from the Spanish league.

Assuming we're still only allowed to sign players that nobody has ever heard of, I think I've found our man :

Reminds me very much of a young Murray (only 21), banging them in for fun in the Spanish second tier, already capped by Uruguay at senior level, would definitely have that 'moneyball'/'one for the future' tag that we know the club love so much, and our last couple of signings from Almeria didn't turn out too badly...

Get him in, Tony!

Ah ha! This could be our missing link!

Where can we improve in the transfer window?
Defensive Midfield and Striker are the obvious 2 areas.

Such a shame Soucek chose West Ham when we were also interested.

It could be that Molumby and White could help here, but maybe too much of a gamble and another will be brought in.

As always we look for a striker.

If Jahanbakhsh leaves - and I think he will - then further attacking player will be required.

I didn't realise we were sniffing around Soucek. He's not only some player, he's just the type of midfielder that we need.

Ashworth and Potter were spotted catching a plane to Prague before there were reports of us being linked with him, but he chose West Ham instead.

After Southampton got lucky with sicknote Ings, I wonder if we’d look at signing a few players on the cheap who have just had big operations/complex injuries?

High risk but you a get a better class of player.

I’d be looking at David Neres from Ajax who has had a complex knee injury including surgery and the Murray-Like Roman Yarumchuk from Holland who went in for surgery prior to the pandemic.

I'd like Josh King (doubt he'd come to us given Man Utd were trying to get him in Jan), Buendia from Norwich, Eze from QPR and Diangana from West Brom (but owned by Chelsea I think). No great tactical reasoning, as just think they're all decent.

Sarr from Watford looks incredibly promising. Guessing there are clubs bigger than ours sniffing around though, in the event Watford go down.

UPDATE - A quick Google tells me Liverpool are interested. Oh well.

Given that the new approach seems to be attracting young players who may not have made their mark in the PL yet, I’d be looking at the Championship. I’d like to see us try and bring in Ollie Watkins (assuming Brentford don’t get promoted), Matt Grimes (a key player for Swansea under Potter), Omar Richards (left back at Reading) and Conor Chaplin (Barnsley).

Always a risk looking to the lower tiers of the FL in the search for players to help you push on, but I’d rather see us looking at young players and a few established names (Adam Lallana for instance) over PL journeymen. Looking oversees is also a mixed bag as it often takes players time to adjust to life in England and the league itself.
