sully all the time although fell did have a vicious shot on him but not always on target
wish we had either now?

It's got to be Sully, Gerry was a nice bloke but not in the same league as Sully

Sully, but I always liked Gerry Fell. Didn't Fell only become a pro at something like 23? I think he was a bank clerk before that. Never let us down when he played, a bit like Graham Winstanley.

Sully was here for 10 years, he played for both good and bad teams, bloke's a true Albion legend, good enough for me.

Sully for me but Fell scored one of the best Albion goals I ever saw at the Goldstone. Took the ball just inside his own half, went past a couple of players and shot just outside the area with the goalie not moving - think it was against Southend, but my memory could be playing up.

Thinking about it: wasn't it always Sully on the left but a toss-up between Fell or Tiger Towner on the right?

Thank you everyone for your kind words.

I am, of course, the greatest player ever to don the stripes.....

:jester:

For the record, I also think Sully was far better than Gerry.

I lived 3 doors away from Sully (in Shoreham) during the late 70's. Used to often see him walking his dog in Buckingham Park! I was only about 8 so it was a major deal having an Albion star as a neighbour. :clap2:
