I though alcohol might be part of this, lost interest if there only moaning!
They had a few 'ocupations' last year as well when I was there. It's mostly just a group of Socialists, many of whom believe that university education should be free.
They want the Vice-Chancellor to condemn the proposed increase in tuition fees even though he openly said that he would want them to increase to at least £7k several months before.
Nothing will happen from this as they let lectures carry on as normal. All it will do is increase the cost of security needed to keep an eye on them.

one of their reasons for being in there is "We call for solidarity and support for those arrested or victimised on Wednesday’s demonstration"
yeah, lets all show solidarity and support that lovely chap who nearly killed some totally innocent bystanders by launching a fire extinguisher off a roof. while we are at it, anyone fancy occupying somewhere to try and secure the release of peter sutcliffe?
