Strange Brighton strip - any ideas?

Just got the latest TOFFS football shirt catalogue. They've got a very strange Brighton shirt from the 20s that's white, blue and red stripes. The Carder/Harris book doesn't mention it - anyone know anything about it?
It's a relief to see that the catalgue doesn't have that sweet-wrapper strip that was worn in the play-off final though..but it does include the Coventry shit-brown strip; surely the worst strip ever.

Well, doesn't look like anyone's heard of it.

It's a weird strip - looks like a stick of Brighton rock. I might buy it.

You mean this one?

I saw it too and sent an e-mail to TOFFS querying it, but never received a reply.

I don't think that it is a genuine Albion shirt ( i've nevr senn anything remotely like it in any old photos)

It looks like something left over from a 1953 Coronation party.

Or, considerably worse, a variant on a Palace shirt.

Yeah, that's the one Storer.

Weird isn't it. You'd stand out in a crowd with it..

not sure that's actually an albion strip...i've got quite a few old (admittedly b&W) photos from the 20's and 30's and there's nothing like it....

There's a website somewhere which shows footie kits through the ages, and that shows red in our kit too.

Historically accurate or not, however, that TOFFs shirt sucks and I would laugh at anyone foolish enough to wear it in public (behind your back if you're quite large).

Quite amusing that you can readily buy an Albion shirt from the early 1900s, but you can't pick-up a yellow away shirt from 2003 for love nor money. :lolol:

I don't know Wozza, I reckon that shirt was ordered in 1928 and has just become available.
