With Van Hecke you do wonder whether we backed the wrong horse a little and should've kept Leo. Ostigard is obviously a very different type of defender but I doubt he's any worse on the ball than JP. Time will tell I guess.

I know what you mean, I feel that about Lamptey too. Both technically lacking a bit. The fact that RDZ has more faith in Gross at full back in this team says a lot.

A bit unfair on Lamptey. It’s not for Gross’s qualities defensively or even on the wing. It’s the fact he’s so clever at drifting into central positions from there and even popping up in the box. You’re not going to get that from Lamptey (or hardly any defenders).

Carbon copy of the Charlton game despite the obvious. Put together side showing, opposition sitting back being hard to break down. It’s so hard to play against for us so I don’t blame them for a slightly jaded performance. Get the W that’s all that matters - Sarmiento and Caicedo brilliant.

Dixon is f***ing awful. Apparently Stoke won’t be able to keep the press up and will be breathing from their lungs before long.

Stoke did very well there.

Problem was Ostigard wanted more of a guarantee of playing time that we weren’t willing to give. We had to sell him of risk losing him for nothing at the end of this season.
