I'm not twisting what you wrote at all. I asked you if you supported any of their manifesto and you clearly said yes to certain elements of it. I could not have asked my question any clearer and you could not have been any clearer in your answer.

I am not going to dwell on this, others can see what was asked and what was answered.

I worked as a steward during my Uni days and came across a large range of personalities (as with any job). There were those that did it for a bit of fun and cash and then there were those that were on a massive ego trip. As soon as the clip-on tie and leather gloves were adorned, they turned into mini-Hitlers are were more than happy to wade in.

One valuable lesson that I learned from my stewarding career (RIP) is that people tend to respond better if they are treated fairly with a friendly ethos. Not always possible, but important to remember.

I wasn't at the game, but looking at the photos, the restraint does seem to be unecessary. The bending the wrist back manoeuvre is feckin painful and not really needed by the look of things.

Re the discussion earlier about whether police have to be in attendance - I don't know if things have changed as a result of this incident but Villa-QPR in the Carling Cup a few seasons back, no police in attendance and it kicked off afterwards, a steward was injured and died later.

From all accounts, it wasn't the first time they'd had a 'no police' game.

Not at all if he had caused a mass invasion the Football League presentation would have been held up or postponed and the club would have been fined or possibly points docked

I think you have a great deal of faith in the Football League. When we played at Stoke, our keeper was attacked by a Stoke fan. Took the stewards ages to react and the players got involved.

The outcome was we were fined for failing to control our players, one of our players was fined and banned for 3 games for violent conduct. Stoke City however got off scot free.

Is that the reason why the Stewarding / Policing at QPR can be over the top.

Me and my brother had a lot of hassle for doing absolutely nothing (we've never been in trouble at a game), don't want to go into the details - but I was shocked by the behaivour of the police and stewards. Not shocked by their response to anything I might add, but shocked by their behaivour towards us.

I received an apology from an police officer afterwards by the way.

Only other time I seen something at a match where nothing happened at all, was a few years back at Barnet when a bloke standing next us was man handled out of the ground (leaving his young child inside).

We were talking to mild mannered chap all game, but towards the end of the game he was frog marched out for "throwing coins".

I'm bemused to this day why it happened. Not only was he completely innocent, but I didn't see anything thrown from anybody.

There was a steward standing nearby and as much as he tried to convince the police they were "mistaken", they wouldn't listen.

He was just thrown out as well, surely if he were throwing coins they would have arrested him ?

Only thing I can think of was there were a few people singing "it's just like watching the bill...." and the police moved in to teach somebody a lesson.

If he had a knife then yes I would say he deserved to be rugby tackled to ground. But this guy wanted to say thanks to Mayo, for his loyalty to this club.... Totally out of order from the Stewards.

When he ran on to the pitch how were the stewards to know he did not have a knife?

As usual NSC see's it differntly for the bloody sake of it. I know what I saw and I know EVERYBODY was outraged by it and let the stewards know in no uncertain manner. Still as usual lets argue the toss about it.

You are the only one arguing. If a bloke ran towards your wife and kids and somebody stopped him you would be grateful. You have to stop seeing the world through such rose tinted glasses US.

It was all on camera so if any complaint is made then i am sure the police who NEVER complained at the time!! will investigate thoroughly

had a long old chat with darren yesterday about making a complaint about that steward No 80 and one who want to complain then should write to richard hibbert and then foward a copt of the letter to darren at hove police station

and darren said that the first bloke to run on the pitch didnt get arrested and the second one did

Serves the idiot right for running on the pitch. Looked like he was either going to hug or punch Mayo, I wouldn't want to be the steward responsible for letting him carry on. If you go on the pitch, you'll be nicked, it's not as if we don't all know the rules.

He wasn't pushed Brett he made a break for it

He was less than 2' directly in front of me when he did and i heard what he said as to why he made the break for it
