Millwall have agreed a £2m fee to let Rep Ireland midfielder Steven Reid begin talks with Blackburn.

This just proves we must be f***ing desperate for cash, as surely Bobby was worth the same if not more than that!

As with Dean Saunders we've well and truly been shafted over the transfer fee!

Problem is Bobby was at a DIv 2 team steven reid was at a div 1 side. That instantly bumps the price up

True, but an England U21 and natural goalscorer is surely worth more than an average Irish midfielder at an average Div 1 team?

I suspect our finances are f***ed! Why else would we let him go so cheaply? Knight hasn't got a pot to piss in, and should say so! :censored:

Souness is getting all of that money from the Duff sale. Expect a couple more signings for Blackburn....

I used to go to First School with someone called Steven Reid.

His nick name was Steven Reid-a-book.

Hilarious :lolol:

I think Steven Reid is probably rated about the same as Bobby. Difference being cos he is in div 1 he is worth more.

Unfortunately Italia we know our finances are f***ed. The reasons why Reid was more expensive than Bobby are simple... Reid is a full International who is playing at Div 1 level, Bobby is a U21 International who's only had one half season at Div 1 level. Ok so that's argueable as to whether that it is a valid reason. BUT. The main difference is that Millwall didn't have to sell Reid, and they knew Blackburn had a lot of money to spend, they could negotiate a high transfer fee. As apparently our finances are pretty f***ed we didn't have the choice whether we wanted to sell, so we had to accept the offer that Tottenham made, without negotiation.
