Anyone else catch the Wright-Mirren interveiw on Radio2 this afternoon. Have to say Dame Helen (and she is not really that keen on that) came across,really well,spoke well and simply. However still retained that Jane Tennision voice.

about the dame thing, i read something from her fairly recently that was all very anti that as well. surely you can refuse to be knighted, damed though? she came across as someone trying to be humble but secretly enjoying it really.

was a good bit of radio though.

I concur.

Don't really tend to watch his show, but she was far more entertaining than I expected, and had some genuinely interesting things to say, as opposed to the "celebrities" who sit grudgingly through their ten minute slot because they've got a book to plug.

A great actress, and seems like a thoroughly grounded person too.

I remember her being interested by Parkinson (before he was Parky) - she turned up in a leather jacket - that he for some reason thought unsuitable - and they clashed - and she simply stood her ground and he ended up looking like a conservative old twerp. She is a girl.

Always like Helen Mirren. I got her autograph 40 years ago (I still have it) when she was a young actress. My father told me she'd be a great actress one day so I approached her and I remember her being very charming.
