Just to add to the wild speculation I found this on 606.

BBC - 606 - - A59223927 - Short list

Seems like rubbish as I can't imagine that Coppell would take a director of football although I can see the idea of a young coach learning under him to take over in the future.

Curbs - Would love it but can't see it - would love it though!

Steve Tilson - Very very interesting idea if true at all. I for one would be very happy with this and imagine the players he could tempt here? Francis, Grant, Barnard.

Though I might as well get in on the outrages ideas fun!!!!!

Snoopy mentioned this last week, before RS had even gone!
Can see him being interested, i'd prefer him over Wise & Southgate.

Could definately do a job here, would be just as happy with him as i would be with Coppel. Has done a very good job at southend!

Can't see the point of a long term plan for a manager. The only time I can think of when this has sort of worked is Harry Bassett and Micky Adams at Leicester. Coppell is young enough to do the job himself for five years - I really can't see the point of planning more than that in advance in this day and age.
