18 year old right back, came on against Manchester City just before extra time.

Considering he didnt play badly against the richest club in the world, i am suprised that he hasnt atleast had a chance in the past month, as up until Leiscester we have been pretty poor with Whing playing pretty poorly aswell.

When do you think we will see him again?

Still Somewhere in Sussex!
I can't believe a player has a good game, and then doesn't even get on the sub's bench in the next month of matches. ???

We have had five loan players come in though!

Has he been injured playing for the reserves?

Maybe it's because the management staff see him play and train day in, day out and we've only seen him play a few minutes where the only touch of the ball he had was to throw it in.

But no, we probably know more about the players than they do eh :dunce:

I think he was put on the bench (of 7 players) that night because he has a long throw. He was brought on with a few minutes to go against Man City for the same reason. Once we equalised and the game went into extra time he had to be moved from right back and pushed into midfield to protect him. I'm not sure I remember him touching the ball much after that.

He may be one for the future but at the moment I would have thought he was behind Whing, Virgo and El-Abd for the right back slot.

He's a centre back.

Whing hasn't been poor. We'll see Cook, when he moves up past Elphick, Hawkins, El Abd, Hinshelwood, Virgo and Pearson in the CB pecking order.

No, I saw him play for the reserves, at LEFT BACK, at Southampton two weeks ago. He was torn apart by Jake Thomson, but as he was playing out of position, I wouldn't hold that against him.

Indeed. And probably Hinshelwood, Fraser and Hart, also. But then, as I say, he's actually a CB anyway.

The know it all sage does not think he is good enough...

..yet. Personally, I look forward to Pearson progressing - he looks a promising defender.

Jake Thomson was their best player in the reserve game last year - absolutely destroyed Sam Rents, that night. Cook fared a little better this time round, but he still waltzed round him half a dozen times.

Thomson's just been moved up to the Saints first team, last couple of matches.

He was on the bench at Northampton away.
