I think some of the comments regarding JS are harsh, very good player, who understands what the manager wants from a decision making perspective and provides a good build up base.
.. and can't make saves that an average League 1 or 2 goalkeeper wouldn't make. No team with a bad goalkeeper has ever won anything and you could maybe make an argument that finishing 6th last season is even more extraordinary that we did it without a competent goalkeeper.

Not much blame for either after today's game. I thought we had bigger weaknesses and big gaps through the middle of the pitch which Fulham identified and exploited

Webster always seems to get bullied and not even by top forwards. Happened twice today. Remember Mc bloody Burnie doing it against him regularly.

I would rather they brought in an u21 for some minutes.

Hmm the Webster mistake for the first goal was pretty bad …

The Webster situation reminds me of the Shane Duffy scenario.

The role of a centre half has developed so much, Webster and Duffy will win headers all day and are very much ‘old fashioned centre halves’

Problem is, Potter and more so RDZ want to play from the back and see their centre halves as pivotal in the way we setup, I’m afraid Duffy and Webster just don’t cut the mustard in terms of the style and portfolio of player we need.

Suspect he will get a decent Championship move in the summer, where his style and strengths are probably better suited.

Webster was fine under Potter. There’s a big thread about him deserving an England call up. But yes looks like demands of RDZ are to much for him

Potter didn’t fancy Duffy and RDZ doesn’t fancy Webster. That’s what I meant.

It’s been a natural progression in that we play and the players we have suited to that role.

Steele couldn't do much with the goals today I thought, had an awful defence in front of him and he did well applying pressure on Muniz when he was through 1 on 1

Webster was at fault for the first goal and looked awful but did have a few positive moments once Dunk went off funnily enough. Couple of decent tackles/interceptions but still not good enough for our side.

Wish Webster would win headers

What did Steele do wrong today? Agree on Webster though, he is crap.
To be fair not much, but for me that is the main part of the problem he doesn’t do much, we’ve let in 3 goals today, could have been 5, and Steele hasn’t made a single save. He doesn’t command his area at all, he has minimal presence. I worry that this keeper nonsense (and it is nonsense) is going to cost RDZ his job.

I do think he did make a save (a 1 on 1), this rotating keepers nonsense does need to go, don’t think it will cost his job, but it is bizarre. They had 5 shots on target and we only conceded three so he did make saves, the defence was to blame today.
