There are various film stars who if in the cast will prevent me watching it. For example, Hugh Grant.

Why Hugh Grant ? Well if I want to see a one trick pony who can't play any other type of role he has to be it. Another is Danny Dyer, he too is a one trick pony. Both are frankly very mediocre actors IMHO.

Any others ?

Tom Cruise - not knocking him as an actor necessarily, I just find him nauseous as a person.

The Cruise and The Cage. Hate both of their faces.

Tom Cruise, Matthew MCConaughey, Gerard Butler

I'm not a massive Nicolas Cage fan but he's been in some bloody good films: Adaptation, Kick-Ass, The Rock, Face-Off, Con Air, Bad Lieutenant,

Tom Hanks. I always get left with the view that, although he's a talent, a lot of other actors would have been better - and most no-names included.

Bruce Willis. Why IS Bruce Willis?

and nowadays I am less interested in watching 'mob' films starring De Niro.
He's uber-talented, yet always drawn to those singular-styled guido movies. They are fairly predictable, boring and you kinda know he's not going to get knocked-off too soon in the plot.

On the other hand there are actors who make me wonder why I am NOT seeing them more. CHER is one - she really is bristling with acting talent. Dustin Hoffman. Need I expand? I don't think so.
Jamie Foxx is talented as an actor who I'd be pleased to see in more stuff.
Sadly, American movies are usually spoiled by outrageous stupid plots or twists in same, or are just ill-conceived from start to finish. I'm usually left wanting less.

Arnie, Sandler, Segal, and Van Damn I can agree with, however, whatever his personal life is about Cruise is a fine actor. Hanks ? Sorry no, quality and possibly one of Hollywood's most versatile actors. Bruce Willis, no, limited but still very good at what he does, Pulp Fiction ? De Caprio ? Gangs of New York.

I would challenge Jolie - if you've ever seen The Changeling, she was terrific in that (IMO, or course). The others, it's a fair cop.
