According to the BBC web site, the Gills are hoping to move to a new home in 2010.

That would really piss me right off.

3 years !!!!!!!!!!!

If we move to Falmer say in 2010 that is 13 years !!!:censored:

I was struggling to think of any other club who have been without their own ground for as long as we have, then stumbled across the article about the Memorial Ground in Bristol being rebuilt. It is currently the home of Bristol Rovers, if memory serves me right I saw them play in Bath a couple of times, which must be 10-15 years ago, so I guess we aren't totally alone.

That then got me thinking about other clubs who have had to play away during their history, could only come up with Charlton and Wimbledon, any more?

It's not the first time they have muted the idea though, as they were looking at building a stadium and casino complex a couple of years ago, but the plans were thrown out.

So it won't ACTUALLY be 3 years from start to finish.

Chester City played at Macclesfield for some time.

If they built one on wheels or a-sea or attached to a thousand birds' feet, then it might be doable. We could attract those birds, big ones, wide wings, a pair gay, arcade-lovers with two-pence pieces in their beaks, every other Saturday and the odd Tuesday evening. Different venues in Brighton. With occasional trips to Africa too.

That is one I had forgotten mona, I went to the old stadium at Sealand Road...haven't been to the Deva yet.

The best new stadium proposal I can remember was about 20 years ago, Luton wanted to move to a site near the M1 and build a ground capable of holding...wait for it...110,000, how on earth were they going to fill that?

The problem with this suggestion is that with such a wide wing span the land needed to accomodate such a landing would mean that any site inside the city walls would be prohibitably expensive. Sound familliar ?
Keep that thinking cap firmly on your head though MB, I'm sure the club would welcome any 'plan B'.

Anyway, must get back to the drawing board, I'm working on a huge inflatable stadium that could be tethered to the end of the pier and be used as a huge bouncy castle in the closed season.

nooooh, not the inflatable stadium idea again, nice plan but my fear is that someone would untie the rope at the start of a game and we would end up in the French league.
