Stadium at Brighton Marina

Nice for them. A 11,000 seat stadium for events. Looks like it will get council approval, so I assume no public enquiry was needed. I don't know the background so may be wrong, but is interesting....

why cant we build an all purpose covered stadium with pitch that rolls out into the carpark like at Vitesse Arnham (30K i believe )and use it for ice hockey basketball conferences etc..then the council wont have to look at diff projects to build a seperate conference centre etc as they are thinking at the moment..with a little forsight we could have a staduim the city would be proud of and also be used more than every other sat etc....This day and age the stadium could be used for indoor cycling ,athletics and all sorts of other things and would go along way to paying for itself ,as well as putting the city on the map of sporting venues:angry: ..rant over

I bet more people live in the Marina now than live at Falmer, don't they? So how come this hasn't taken years to push through?

Because its a very well presented plan in an area that needs something done with it and it will dfinitely improve the Marina for the residents, there really is nothing to complain about.

Plus the people who live in the Marina want things to progress unlike the FALMER NIMBY WANKERS who seem sontent with their boring little lives.

I thought an important part of the business plan for Falmer was getting other events staged in the stadium. Won't this other one harm those revenue streams?
