Chaileyjem is correct the country seems to be moving more digital. I dont get a programme often but when i do i need stick my card in the machine yet like elsewhere there is assumption im going to tap it. No way. I had a new bank card think was my American Express one and I ended up paying for someone elses shopping as scanned my card near tills. It can happen. I got my money back but thats not the point. I could easily have missed it on a bank statement especially if I only received online as in paper format Im more inclined to check it.
Country went all panic with Covid and never returned to cash. The other day the pub barlady said "oh cash, do we still take cash" thankfully they did or they were tipping a good couple of pints away. Going back to mobile phones yeah the world did function before these things existed and we had football too.
Nothing to do with Albion but we can fight against lack of service that digital age is bringing. Twice in last month have met friends in pubs for lunch and when we asked for menu was told to download an app. Both times we walked out and went somewhere else.

Contactless payments machines in shops work from a distance of about 10cm of less, anything over 4cm and the signal is very weak and struggles as it is. So I’m calling BS on that, or you were invading someone else’s personal space while they were paying and you’ve only got yourself to blame.

I prefer it tbh. I would much rather order on my phone at a time of my choosing than wait for someone to notice we are ready to order. It also speeds up the arrival of the drinks. Particularly useful in busy pubs and food courts in the city.

Must admit never realised you can put ticket on an old phone without a sim card. Of course would never consider doing it but presume that would mean you can just have a phone for Albion and share with friends

Yes it’s nothing to do with using it or anything - he just doesn’t want one or see the need. Absolute respect to him from me for it. Never had one before, got a house phone, doesn’t see a need to have one. Absolutely personal choice.
Fair enough, but the club is geared up for mobile ticketing now. So if you refuse to use it you can still attend but an extra charge applies. Don't see the issue with that myself.

Fair enough if card lost so another needed but why should those who already have card pay for another. plastic cards used to last from season to season.

How does that work then? You'd have a point if the club said no access unless you use a mobile phone, but the club are offering an alternative to their preferred system of entry at a fee to cover their costs.

Whatever you may think of the fact they are charging for that it doesn't go against equality, diversity or inclusion
