Squeaky Bum Sunday

What's everyones thoughts on who will drop from the EPL on Sunday, surely one of the most dramatic days in EPL history awaits and for those of you who aren't interested it of course has a bearing as we will be playing two of these sides next season.

For my money I think Wigan and Blackpool will be relegated.

Wigan and I think Birmingham, though I would probably rather it was Blackburn. I quite like McCarthy, so would like Wolves to stay up, and Blackpool kinda deserve to from the way they play. The new Blackburn owners seem to be rather naive in footballing terms, and have made odd choices.

Blackpool and Wolves. Holloway and McCarthy are both annoying prats, McCarthy a cheating one at that, so happy to see them go, plus I reckon we'd have much more chance of getting points from either of those than any others.

I think Blackpool & Birmingham. It's certainly going to be one of the most dramatic final days in recent years. The permutations are (adopts David Coleman voice) quite extraodinary. For instance, depending on other results, Blackpool could win and get relegated, or lose and stay up!

I really want Birmingham to go down - really. McCarthy, in spite of his TV persona, is a genuinely nice bloke. I suspect Wolves and Blackburn will both be safe, in spite of the boring 0-0 draw they will almost certainly serve up.

Bit like 2005 then, except that was 3 from 4. But then at one stage in the afternoon all for individual clubs - including Palace - were in the "safe" spot. I have newspaper report in the form of a graph over the whole 90 minutes which shows how events in the four games swung the postion. Fascinating if finally crushingly sad for Palace as WBA stayed up, only to go down in 2006.

And if you wonder next season why Palace fans will always give a certain QPR player a bollocking (Mikaele Leighertwood) its because the bastard (then at Selhurst) gave away a needless free-kick to let Charlton equalise just when thanks to a goal from (who else?) Freedman, Palace were in the safe spot. And of course now we won't be playing QPR so that particular booing won't happen, unless QPR offload him.

Firstly, Blackpool *will* lose, but strangely I can still see them finishing above Birmingham because I think they are going to be absolutely battered at Tottenham, even though Spurs have only won twice in 12 games or something.

The key for me is whether Wigan can get a result at Stoke. If this match had been played 3 weeks ago, I reckon Stoke would have steam rollered them, but Stoke look tired and abject now.

So for me, Blackpool and Birmingham will go, unless Wigan somehow lose at Stoke in which case I think it will be Wigan and Birmingham. I don't think Wolves v Blackburn will have any relevance in the end.

I want Blackburn to go down just for that last 15 minutes against Man Utd last weekend, when they let Man U pass the ball across the back unchallenged, because they thought a point would keep them up.

To me it was match fixing

I don't think Blackburn could have done much about that, it was United that really wanted the point - and they had the ball.

As soon as United equalised, both teams visibly stopped playing. So if Blackburn do go down, it will be FRIGHTFULLY funny.

If Blackpool and Wolves go down, it would be a disaster for sales of Norwich's away kit.

Looks like Blackpool and Birmingham to me.

Birmingham have just been awful since the Cup Final win over Arsenal, and Blackpool just have too much to do at Man Utd. Both will lose, and I can see the others picking up the points they need. Wigan played so well when up against it last week, while Stoke have surely packed up for teh season. They've been carrying a few knocks the last few weeks, and I just can't see why they would risk them in a meaningless game for them.

Does Redknapp actually want to be in the Europa League next season?

No, but I think due to the fair play spot Tottingham have qualified in any case. However were they to finish 6th they would have to play their first qualifier at the end of June, whereas if they finish 5th they wouldn't play in it until mid-August.

Apparantly this year's final was on a couple of days ago.

I can't say I even noticed. What a pointless competition it has become.

It was a tad bizarre that two Portugese clubs, based thirty miles apart, had to play each other in Dublin. I watched the first half, but it wasn't exactly the high-class champagne football I have become used to this season
