Is our current squad looking at this moment in time, weaker than when the season finished. No Bennett,no Murray, two pivotal players in last seasons success and 2 i personally was looking forward to watching at the new fabulous arena.Injuries to El Abd and Elphick and several departures from decent squad members, leaves new additions very important.Gus has always indicated how important he feels pre season is for him and his ideas, but pre season is now upon us with the Portugal tour looming.Gus also said he wanted the new boys on the tour!It could hopefully get lively in the coming days.

Murray and Hoskins are on a level par, Buckley has potential to be very good indeed. I think we have a better squad now than at end of last season. Im sure we will sign another 5 or 6 players. The future is Brighton

A couple of players before the team comes back for pre-season wouldn't go amiss but wont be panicking unless no progress has been made by Mid July.

It's a fair point though.

Gus has emphasised the importance of having the major players in place for pre-season and that looks to be (potentially) compromised.

I am pretty confident though that we will have the bones of a squad in place before we go to Portugal with hopefully all major signings complete plus some triallists who may surprise and only a couple of Premiership players on loan to come before the end of the transfer window.

Or would you say the squad is stronger than the team promoted 10 years ago, or the last team promoted to the championship?

I'd say we're f***ed.

It's horribly obvious we have absolutely no chance of signing anyone before August 31st, let alone August 6th; short of maybe getting in a couple of loan players from Bristol City, according to my source.

The lack of news on the transport front is severely hampering the club's efforts to sign new players. What point is there in any player coming to Brighton if the platform at London Road Station can only cope with six carriages? It's something the club should seriously look at. I'd also say the lack of information on away ticket priority for the fans is going to seriously give Gus pause for thought should another Premiership club suddenly decides their manager is not the one for them. What would Gus think about the club's long-term sustainability if there are people so abjectly PISSED OFF with the club if they don't get to go to Fratton Park?

And while I'm on the subject, how attractive can a club ever be to a player if they don't sign players in time?

It's a shambles.

Don't forget we should have Nav(reckon we might sign him up to a new 1 year contract) and Smith back from injury after both missed most of last season.
